"Humiliating Fing" at the Dramatists Guild
Hanoch Levin's wonderful play "Heffetz" will receive a New York premier reading in Nadav Wiesel's new transaltion as part of the Dramatists Guild's Friday Night Footlights Series.. Levin is one of Israel's top playwrights. His works are delightfully dark and whimsical, and have caused many an uproar in Israel (and at times even censure). "Humiliating Fing" ("Heffetz" in Hebrew) Is one of Levin's most popular plays- centered on extreme power-play, generational dynamics, life and death- all with a darkly comic edge.
This play and playwright have been a passion of mine for many years, and I am excited to be sharing this with you in my new translation!
The cast includes Drama Desk Award winner Jim Brochu (Zero Hour), MAC Award winner Carolyn Montegormry Forant, Jen Eden, Nathan Brisby, Zak Risinger, Meaghan Boeing and Robby Sandler.
